Shobizz - "Do It In The Dark"

"Todo el mundo es espectáculo esta noche... luces, cámara, acción" decían Shobizz, un proyecto del escritor Rupert Homes, que además de la canción de la Piña Colada hizo obras de teatro, que como tal sólo publicó un álbum en 1979. El single estrella fue "Do It In The Dark", donde repite que lo que no puedas hacer con luz lo hagas a oscuras Además de este "Everybody's In Shobizz" también incluyó "Street Of A Thousand Disco's" con trozos interpretados en castellano:

The Human League - Seconds

Human League son un grupo inglés de música New Wave de los 80, formados en el año 1977 en Sheffield. El grupo tuvo un éxito masivo a los comienzos de los 80. con los super exitos de Savage Lover y Jump, encontro

toda la rola y más si la version era extendida.

Parade Ground fue un dúo belga formado por los hermanos Jean-Marc y Pierre Pauly en 1982. Durante 6 largos años permanecen en el absoluto underground, publicando diversos singles y maxis de cariz más minimal, hasta que en 1988 aparece este "Cut Up", su único trabajo en formato LP.


A Parade Ground se les metió en el saco de la electronic body music por el simple hecho de que el disco fue publicado porPlay It Again Sam, sello estrechamente vinculado al citado género. De hecho, su excelente y pegadizo "Strange World"fue incluido en una histórica recopilación del sello titulada "This Is Electronic Body Music", lo que les daría a conocer a un público más amplio. Si bien el tratamiento percusivo en ése y en algún otro tema pueda aproximarles ligeramente a la EBM, lo cierto es que su estilo está mucho más cerca de un synth-pop de connotaciones cold wave, incorporando guitarras que en ocasiones les acercan más al sonido, por ejemplo, de los primeros New Order, que a los ritmos industriosos de los coetáneos Front 242, Nitzer Ebb, Borghesia, Klinik, etc. Además la voz algo aguda y un pelín cansina del vocalista, que me recuerda pero que mucho al cantante de China Crisis, no encaja con las voces profundas y roncas típicas de la body.


De este LP se extrajeron dos singles, el citado "Strange World" y "Hollywood", tras cuya publicación Parade Ground se separan para pasar a formar parte del staff de colaboradores de Front 242 durante la década de los 90, grupo con el que siempre mantuvieron una estrecha relación, y llegan a poner las voces en el álbum "Up Evil" de estos últimos. Sorprendentemente, en 2007 reaparecen en escena, publicando un indigesto álbum de puro ruidismo industrial titulado"Rosary", producido precisamente por Patrick Codenys de los 242, que absolutamente nada tiene que ver con su pasadosynth-pop.
